I'm halfway through the BBC's 2014 Genesis Documentary. Can't tell you how much joy I'm filled with.

Greetings, traveller of the digital highways, and welcome to the rough draft of 'Is it Prog?' - one man's deluded attempt to further clog up the internet with meaningless waffle. My only hope is that you're amused. Actually, that's a lie, my other hope is to expand my knowledge and perceptions of all that is Prog, to discover new groups and albums, and generally keep myself occupied while I'm not trying to write the stuff myself.

So who am I? I'm no expert on progressive rock, just a fan, but I'm also a drummer, and behind closed doors I do things with guitars and keyboards etc.

What's my ideal Prog album? Out there, but not too pretentious. Music which is adventurous and original, but also an homage to the greats that have come before. Any berk can f**k about with a Theremin for half an hour, but will it keep me interested? I doubt it, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

I'm also open to suggestion. If you disagree with anything, speak up, opinions are changeable and it's always great to see things from a new perspective. Feel free to suggest new things to review as well, I might get around to it some time.
